Upgrade/Installation SOS Suite Release 2013.02 10/17/2013 |
If you are upgrading, before installing the software, make sure that you have exited all SOS applications. If updating SOS on a network server, leave the database running, but no other SOS applications should be open. In addition, SOS recommends that you temporarily disable your anti-virus software during the installation.
Upgraders from SOS 2007, please note that this installation involves the removal of older versions of the SOS-provided Crystal Reports components, which can be
rather time-consuming. For this reason, even on network workstations the complete installation can take up to a half-hour or so. On
standalone installations and network servers, the process will take even longer because of the database upgrade. Please plan in advance and
leave ample time to complete the procedure.
Network Installations: You should install on the database server first. Once that step is complete, proceed with installation on all workstations. Also, if installing on a network, be sure to leave the database running. Do NOT shut down the database before doing the installs. Wait until the database update is complete before doing the other workstations! You can do more than one workstation simultaneously, after the server install is complete.
SOS suggests that you download and review the detailed installation instructions before starting. You will find that document at:Here is the link, date and size of the SOS Suite 2013 Installer:
